Per the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the threshold for the VEVRAA filing has increased from $100,000 to $150,000 and will go into effect beginning August 1, 2016.
The recent adjustment is the result of the National Defense Authorization Act (Ronald Reagan), Section 807, enacted by Congress in 2004.
The Act requires the FAR Council to revisit threshold amounts (in dollars), every five years for select federal agency procurement-related laws, to determine if an adjustment for inflation is warranted. Per the Act, that was codified at 41 U.S.C. 1908, and the recent review, the FAR Council adjusted the thresholds for VEVRAA and Section 503.
Federal contractors should note that 41 C.F.R. 60 Parts 300 and 741 do not consider these inflationary increases; however, OFCCP has adopted the Council’s revised thresholds to determine which contractors are covered by the regulatory requirements of VEVRAA and Section 503
