Update on the Status of “Component 2” EEO-1 Report

The acting Chair of the Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Victoria Lipnic, made a formal statement today, notifying employers that they will be using the EEO-1 Report that was used in previous years, meaning there will be no change in the filing requirement, as “Component 2” has been suspended. Chair Lipnic also informed employers that the EEO-1 Report would need to be filed by March 31, 2018; however, there was no clarification as to the “snapshot” dates that will be used for filing the March 31, 2018 Report.

Additional updates are to follow regarding the final fate of “Component 2” of the EEO-1 Report, as well as, the “snapshot” dates employers should use when filing the Report in March 2018.
